A fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor Friday morning.
Crews were called to the University of Michigan's student union, 530 S. State St., around 10:15 a.m., according to Ann Arbor fire Battalion Chief Robert Vogel.
There was some welding being done on the fourth floor and the fire ripped through the duct work, Vogel said. Firefighters quickly had the fire under control.
State Street was closed and filled with numerous fire and police vehicles while crews responded to the fire.
Dozens of people waited outside the doors, but it wasn't immediately known if the whole building was evacuated.
There were no injuries.
