Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire that damaged a home on Ann Arbor's south side this morning.

Residents reported a fire outside the home in the first block of Englewood Court just before 4 a.m.

A family of three evacuated before firefighters arrived and were not injured, Ann Arbor Police Lt. Chris Heatley said.

Heatley said the first-responders found an object that they believe was thrown against the home and ignited an exterior wall.

Detectives and the city's fire marshal were on their way to the scene this morning.
Further details were not immediately available.
