We are the Ann Arbor Firefighters Local 693 of the International Association of Fire Fighters. We currently have 81 members that provide services to include fire suppression, EMS, hazmat, and technical rescue. We serve the community of Ann Arbor, Michigan and the University of Michigan. Census population estimate in 2017 not including commuters is approximately 121,477 in a 28.7 square mile area. We have 3 shifts which work one 24 hour day on and two 24 hour days off in a rotating cycle. We currently staff four engines, one 75ft ladder, one 100ft tower platform with three personnel each, one light rescue with two personnel and a battalion chief for a complement of six companies per day from five fire stations. Our minimum staffing 18 personnel per day to run 7000 plus calls a year.
